A3C was over a month ago, but we're bringing you some dope recaps of the historic hip hop festival all this week. Today, Broke2Dope delivers the first of the 9-part video series of the Teamback Cypher. The first clip features Phil Ade, Dime-a-Duzin, and Alex Wiley and was produced by Mikey Fresh. Shout out to A3C, Teambacpack and Pitchblend PR. Check out the video and get more info on the artists below:
Phil Adé is an artist from Maryland with an impressive resume. He has made appearances an many shows inlcuding BET’s the Backroom. His most recent album R.O.S.E. (Result of Societies Evil) is a mirror into the rebellious spirit of today’s younger generation. Ade’s flow and lyrical punch is rooted from his family life and his biggest influenced, Nas. He touches on a few deep subjects but presents them in very a relatable way. With that being said, Phil came through and killed the cypher as expected. If you’d like to check out more of his music be sure to check out www.philademusic.com.
Dyme-A-Duzin is an Atlantic Records new artist and one of the tastemakers heading the New Brookyln movement in NYC. Some of his peers include Joey Bada$$ and the late Capital $teez, who both appear in Dyme’s music video for “Swank Sinatra”. His verse in this cypher was very inspiring and shows why the industry holds him at such a high standard. In it, he talks about the struggles with his new fame, the deaths of his close friends, including Capital $teez, and how he manages to deal with it all and keep his head up. Expect Dymez to do some amazing things in 2014 and be sure to check out more of his stuff at www.iamdyme.com/.
Alex Wiley is one the bigger artist coming out of Chicago right now. A frequent collaborator with Chance The Rapper who appears on several of his songs including #MoPurp with Kembe X. He recently dropped a free album entitled Club Wiley, the whole project is packed with hits. my personal favorite is Spaceships II, which also features Chance The Rapper and G.O.O.D. Music’s GLC. Alex came through and gave us a fly verse that basically embodied his musical style. His style is unorthadox which makes him an easy stand-out.
