Broke2dope.com: Dope Art Watch: Jamil DeHonney

Jamil DeHonney, is a visual artist from the DMV area. His contemporary artwork combines vintage and modern phenomenon to bring forth a unique visual experience. DeHonney has been creating art since the age of 10, but just recently delved into the creative control possibilities that come with artistic expressions. We got a chance to catch up with the artist to see where he gets his inspiration from.

What have you experimented with creatively? What do you think is your niche?

I have experimented with design in a lot of different ways in a short period of time, from pencils to paint to computers. I feel like my niche is paint, but also to design and create modern art.

What do you draw inspiration from?

Ever since I was younger I use to always draw cartoons mainly Dragon ball Z & Pokemon Although cartoons jump started the art life for me and music has and will always played a huge part towards my artwork but my Dad is my inspiration above all.

What do you try to get across in your art?

I try to push out the creativity and imagination I have instilled in me. Every time I do an art project I want to have the viewers mind blown away and admire my work!
