Jay Z's Magna Carta Holy Grail Goes Platinum

Jay Z has made it to platinum status with his twelfth studio album, Magna Carta Holy Grail. After landing a major deal with Samsung Mobile where the phone maker bought a million downloads of the album, the partnership resulted in platinum status of the album. While there was much debate whether the downloads would count, the Recording Industry Association of America and Billboard changed the rules to include the digital sales. The album dropped for Samsung users on July 4th and released officially today, the same day it hit platinum status. It is projected that MCHG will sell over 300,000 in its first official week. Beyonce paid tribute to her hubby by posting an IG photo similar to her Bow Down image. She uploaded an old graduation photo of the hip hop mogul with the caption "Bow Down".

Hov had Twitter ablaze with an impromptu Q&A on Monday in an effort to promote the album's release. The rapper, who rarely tweets, had his followers hooked as he answered their questions about the album to his thoughts on Yeezus and even Miley Cyrus. The rapper continued the conversation on Hot 97 with Angie Martinez.Check out the interview below:
