Is The Miley Wave Here To Stay?

Miley Cyrus went from Hannah Montana to twerking on stage for Juicy J. The actress/singer is known for being in the spotlight, but her audience has shifted from preteens to a more mature, urban crowd. You can now see Cyrus chilling in the studio with the likes of Pharrell and Mike Will Made It or getting shouted out by Jay Z. So, where did this Miley Mania come from?

Some have recently joined the Miley wave, but the entertainer has been making moves in the industry for a while. After landing the lead role in the Disney Channel hit show Hannah Montana, she signed a record deal with Hollywood Records where she released the soundtrack to the series Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley Cyrus. The album sold over 3 million copies in the United States. In 2008, her album Breakout went platinum also with the hit single "7 Things".

Recently Miley has been portraying a more edgy look with her short pixie and sex appeal. She released a video of herself "twerking" and black Twitter has been hooked ever since. Rapper Mack Maine may have began her interest in the urban community with his shout out of the teen star in "Every Girl In the World". She pushed her good girl image aside and began to show her true self to the world so it seems. Miley shows little censorship on social media and often shares sexy pictures of herself on Instagram and Twitter. Everyone has been asking what happened to the former Disney princess? She claims that this has always been her persona, but that she kept it under wraps for the fans of Hannah Montana. Her next album is in the works with her latest single "We Can't Stop" rocking out on the charts. Is this Miley wave just a fad ..or is it here to stay?
