Highlights from the 2013 BET Awards [video]

Last night was the 13th annual BET Awards. Hosted by Chris Tucker, the award show proved that anything can happen. The night was filled with stellar performances and celebrity appearances. Kendrick Lamar, however, was the star of the evening. The rapper performed three times including his hit "Don't Kill My Vibe", which was aided by the lovely Erykah Badu. Lamar took home both Best New Artist and Male Hip Hop Artist in his first round of awards for his GKMC.

Gabrielle Douglass was also a hit for the night! The Olympic gymnast took home many awards including the Youngstars Award where she was up against Jaden Smith, KeKe Palmer, Quvenzhane Wallis and Jacob Latimore.

The awards show took it back for a minute with a mini-concert by R.Kelly, reminding us why we fell in love with the R&B legend. There was also a tribute to Charlie Wilson, or Uncle Charlie as Snoop Dogg likes to call him. India Aire, Justin Timberlake, Pharrell and more joined in the celebration by performing for and alongside the R&B giant.

One of the hottest and highly anticipated performances of the night came from Ciara. That A-town singer gave us a party for her single "Body Party". With her sultry moves and falsetto, we were all hypnotized by the act. We were even waiting for a Future cameo. A girl can wish.
