Broke2Dope got a chance to watch an advance screening of Despicable Me 2. The follow up of the 2010 hit animation, finds Gru, the minions, and the girls in another adventure as they try to save the world. If you loved the first one, you don't want to miss the hilarious, and action packed sequel.
RollingOut.com and V103 helped show a bunch of small children a good time as they prepared to watch the advanced screening. Kids could enjoy face painting, arcade games, and even creating their own little minions from Twinkies. As the movie prepared to start, Toya Wright came through to welcome everyone to the show. She was accompanied by Reginae Carter and Bria Williams. They of course gave a little shout out about their latest book, Paparazzi Princesses, and announced that they will be starting a fun and interactive book club for the youth.
Despicable Me 2, was hilarious and adorable, as Gru tries to remain on the good side. He takes his role as a father very seriously, which can be seen in his protectiveness over the girls. Gru gets recruited to help stop another evil villain who steals a dangerous chemical. The minions take the spotlight in the sequel as we get to see them more in their natural state; speaking gibberish and eating ice cream. Of course, things turn bad quickly. You'll have to watch to find out what happens. I give the film two thumbs up for its comedy, heartwarming moments, and awesome music produced by Pharrell. Who says a villain can't be a hero? Check out the trailer below and catch the film in theaters on July 3.
