A part time job or internship is a great way to be productive over the summer. While a job can put money in your pocket, an internship can gain you experience in your desired field. I begin my internship on Monday and I'm excited to gain some hands on experience and knowledge. Here a few tips to make the most of your internship this summer:
1. Come with an open mind - You should come into your internship with an open mind; ready to learn everything you need to know about the field. This sometimes mean stepping out of your comfort zone. Whether it's running for on a coffee run or speaking with some high level executives, you should always give your best work.
2. Bring Results! At your internship, always bring your A-game and give results. You could end up with a great recommendation or even employment! My internship is looking to hire after the internship, so I know that what I bring to the table now will help with the decision to have me on board full-time.
3. Stand out! Do above and beyond for the call of duty. You should take initiative and as well as following directions to a tee. You are being trained to be their best employee so conduct yourself as a representation of their brand. Be eager to learn so they're willing to teach you.
