GI:Joe Retaliation Tops Box Office Easter Weekend


This weekend, GI Joe returns with its sequel 'Retaliation'  ranking in $40.1 million. The film adds Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson an Bruce Willis to the cast in the action packed sequel earned a total of $51.7 million overall in 3,719 theaters. The sequel didn't match up to the first film, "GI:Joe:The Rise of Cobra".

Tyler Perry's "Temptation" earned the third spot with $22.3 million. The drama starred a grown up Jurnee Smollett as a marriage counselor tempted by a billionaire business man that leads her spiraling down a dark course. Audiences gave the film an A- with a  not so pleasurable performance by the first time actress Kim Kardashian.

Prehistoric animation 'The Croods" landed the #2 spot with $26.5 million and has made $8.6 million so far. Olympus has fallen reached the fourth spot with $14 million and a total of $54.7 million so far. Disney's "Oz" rounded out the top five earning $11.6 million with a total o f$198.2 million, closely reaching the $200 million mark.
