NBC's hit singing competition The Voice premiered tonight. Adam Levine and Blake Shelton were joined by new mentors Usher and Shakira.The new additions are just keeping the seats warm for Christina Aguilera and CeeLo Green, but their energies fit right in to the dynamic of the show. Since the first blind audition, both Shakira and Usher announced that they were out to win and proved that in tonight's show.
Shakira, with her bubbly personality, critiqued the auditioning singers, but snabbed falsetto crooner Kris Thomas with her sneaky poker face. "I Know you guys. I gotta keep it under control otherwise you all turn and make my life miserable," joked Shakira.
Usher was his typical hearthrob self and played it smooth throughout the show. He did seem to have a slight advantage with his musical ties with Justin Bieber. "I can't promise that you'll be at every Justin Bieber concert," he said, trying to lure 16 year old singer Danielle Bradberry.
