It's time to do a little spring cleaning! This is the time of the year where the winter items are getting packed away, and everyone is preparing the new beginnings that come along with springtime. 1. Ebay - create a free eBay account and start selling your old clothes, textbooks, or electronics. Set your price, post a picture, and figure out shipping and you'll be on your way to making some cash on the side. eBay does charge for posting an item, but they constantly have offers for free listing. You can even share your items to your friends on Facebook and Twitter.
2. Craigslist - similar to eBay, you can post your item on Craigslist for sell. This is an easy way to get it off your hands quickly because you'll be selling to locals in your area. Also, consider bartering or trading for something you may need. Don't forget to check out the "free stuff" section for neat items you could snatch as well!
3. Swap - host a swap party. It's easy and fun to do. Just get some friends together and swap old items. You know what they say: 'one student's trash is another student's treasure'. Get food and music and you have yourself a party and you just might come up.
4. Sell online - check out sites like shopify and bigcartel to create your own online store. You can use simple free themes and get started to running your personal online business. You never know, your little hustle could blow up into a full blown career.
5. Have a yard sale - host a yard sale inside the dorms! Post flyers around your dorm to spread the news and host one right inside your room. Keep the prices low and watch your friends fly at the chance to take some old items off your hands.
6. Cash in Electronics - Sites such as Zumu lets you sell your old DVDs, CD's, and electronics! Just ship it to them and they'll send you a check!
