Valentine's Day is here and you're still balling on a broke college student budget. Don't fret, Nika's here with a few tips to help you have a cute, yet cheap V-day celebration:
- Cook together - download a recipe app and take a hack at one of the meals! This is a great bonding moment and a nice way to get to know someone. Buying the groceries will range from $10-$30 depending on the meal. Don't forget dessert!
- Campus - campus will be full of Valentine's Day events like concerts, poetry nights, or date auctions! Peep the flyers around campus to find something for you and your date to do! These events are wallet friendly and fun social events.
- Tour- check out the tourist spots around your city! Most are free and or offer cheap rates for college students! Make a photo shoot of it and create an online photo gallery so you guys can remember the day!
- Redbox it! Have a nice movie night with cheap rentals from Redbox! Have Netflix? Check out their romance selection for a night full of movies! Pop some popcorn and pig out on snacks for chill evening.
- Groupon - groupon offers awesome discounts for events and restaurants. Check out the app to see what they have available. They'll have discounts on everything from flowers, dinner for two, and classes that you and your date can try out!
- Picnic - get some blankets and some food for a nice picnic on campus. You'll have no trouble finding a nice spot on campus to share a romantic midday snack with your Valentine.
- Get creative! It's the thought that counts so take some time to think of a nice gift for your date. Write a love letter, or design a card. Whatever it is, put some heart into it!
You don't have to go all out to show how much you love someone. Try out some of these date ideas for cheap, but cute Valentine options. Put some thought behind it, and there's no need to ball out.
