September is making its way and there's lot I plan to accomplish this month. From academics to business, I aspire to make September a moth full of accomplishments. As the new month rolls in, it would be a great idea for you to write down your goals you'd like to see come into fruition. Some people like to put this down on a vision board, piece of napkin, or notebook. But writing it down will help you keep focused and remember what you want to work towards.
This also goes for your finances. This month, create a financial goal for yourself. It could be getting a new job or raise, paying off some of your student loans, or sticking to a new budget. Write it down. My personal financial goal is to stick with this new budget and save more throughout the month.
It's important to have goals as a college student. Life can go by fast and soon you'll be graduating not knowing what your next move may be. Start today by writing out small goals for yourself similar to your financial goals. Below are a few tips on how to create a Vision Board!
1. Make a board. You can either purchase a vision board, or in the spirit of DIY, use the back side of old worksheets to create a poster board. Tape it to your wall.
2. Be creative. You can represent your goals through images or words. Magazines are a great resource for pictures.
3. Be specific. If your goal is to own a house, list details such as how many bedrooms and by when you want to have your home.
4. Refer back. Look at it EVERYDAY again and again.
Tell me what some of your goals are for the new month! Leave a comment below or email me at Shanika.Simmons90@gmail.com. I'd love to hear from you or help you with your vision board!
